Job Description

To support our growth, we are seeking junior level candidates with a strong interest in energy efficiency. This position requires high interest with utility energy efficiency programs and knowledge of energy efficient technologies associated with residential homes and commercial building systems.

In this role you will be responsible for supporting a pipeline of application activity from equipment distributors to ensure applications are progressing as necessary to meet energy goals. You will contribute to the payment fulfillment process by supporting several key payment-batching and invoicing activities across a portfolio of utility clients. Regular updates to distributors, team members, and management through a series of reports, scorecards, and virtual meetings will also be required. The candidate is expected to develop the skills required to provide analysis of submitted applications to assess eligibility of equipment and other energy efficient measures. Regular and proactive outreach to the equipment distributors will be essential to assist them with the application process and to resolve application errors.

This position requires a sense of ownership, organization, timeliness, attention to detail, a drive to meet goals, and excellent communication. In this role, you will work with a multi-functional team which will require effective communication with all key stakeholders and team members specifically in the distributor and retailer sectors, and coordination with a team of energy efficiency experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detailed review and analysis of applications to assess whether the applications meet the program eligibility requirements. This process includes intaking and entering new information into the application tracking system.
  • Prompt and accurate updates to our application tracking system, and our customer relationship management system (CRM) to support leads, pipeline activity, and progress updates.
  • Proactive and regular coordination with major national, local, and regional distributors, suppliers, and manufacturers to support their participation in the programs and to resolve incomplete or ineligible applications. This process will require outbound phone communication as well as monitoring and responding to email inquiries.
  • Coordination of the invoice batching process by generating the batching reports and evaluating the reports to assess and resolve application or payment discrepancies within a time-sensitive environment.
  • Maintain strong ongoing communications with participants and other interested stakeholders in order to assess their needs, respond to information requests, and to receive feedback on their experience with the program. This process includes telephone outreach to a selection of customers to assess their experience with the program.
  • Manage and maintain ad hoc promotional activities and payments which could require creating a new rebate entry within the application tracking system.
  • Demonstrate effective task prioritization and deadline/deliverable management skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and proactively resolve errors.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to manage professional and effective telephone conversations with trade professionals.
  • Excellent written communication skills to support email communications that are professional and technical, but also grammatically accurate.
  • Goal-oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness.
  • Outstanding skills in the following areas: organization, flexibility, time management, analysis, stakeholder collaboration and outreach, meeting coordination and support, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills within a cross-functional team.
  • Growing knowledge of demand side management (DSM) programs, midstream and upstream energy efficiency programs, with a desire to learn more about energy efficiency and the energy industry.
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude both in person and in virtual collaboration settings.
