We are seeking an Internal Controls Specialist for our client's Finance and Contracts department to work closely with managers to support audit scope and timelines. In this role, you will participate in audit meetings to assist with internal and external audit activities and communicate with various departments to solicit and review audit PBCs. The selected individual should understand regulatory requirements and legal regulations.

This position is to work onsite 1-2 days/week at our client's headquarters in the Rockville office and then eventually at our client's Bethesda office when they move in late Fall 2025.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine duties while adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documents and records.
  • Update/maintain databases and systems.
  • Assist with audit requests.
  • Communicate with various departments to solicit and review audit PBCs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Costpoint and/or Procas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years’ experience with Costpoint and/or Procas.
  • Certified Internal Control Specialist (CICS): Offered by the Internal Control Institute, this certification covers a comprehensive set of internal control concepts and practices.
  • Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA): Provided by the Institute for Internal Controls, this certification is aimed at professionals responsible for auditing and evaluating internal controls.

  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
